As part of a radio and broadcasting unit I was teaching to a pair of Grade 11 Com Tech classes I created a YouTube channel with a series of video tutorials. These tutorials focused on the hands-on aspects of using the mixer and studio setup as well as how to create a program promo using Audacity editing software.
I made the Audacity videos using screen capture software and often could simply record the demos we were doing as a class. The mixer and studio videos required the use of a video camera. I didn't really bother with much editing other then a quick trim on the beginning and end if needed.
I found that these videos turned out to be really useful. Many students needed a review between seeing the demo and actually having a chance to use the studio for their group project. It was also useful when a student missed a class. Having the videos allowed me to focus on helping other students who required more assistance.
