Portfolio - Teaching

During my practicum I taught a three week unit on broadcasting. We used a Wordpress blog for the students to post their work. I wanted the students to feel like they were actually “on the air”. By posting their programs on the blog the rest of the students could tune in. The students could also comment on each others’ work.

The students worked in groups to produce 30 minute music programs and they worked individually to create 30 second public service announcements.

The blog also hosted all the information about what they needed to include in their projects, how they were to be evaluated and also had links to videos I created demonstrating the basic skills required in the unit.

I setup the studio, the blog and video tutorials that these classes used. It was a lot of fun and the students enjoyed being "On-Air".
